John George Urbanavage, 82, of Bethlehem, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospice House. He was the son of the late Joseph and Marie (Biskis) Urbanavage and the husband of Darlene (Tarole) Urbanavage for 49 years, until her passing in 2019.

He was a graduate of Dieruff HS class of 1961. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He worked as a Data Systems Operator at PPL until his retirement in 2000. He was also a longtime PIAA football and basketball official, retiring in 2019.

He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.

He is survived by his sons; John Urbanavage Jr. and wife Dorothy, Anthony Urbanavage, and Michael Urbanavage and wife Vanessa; his daughter, Darla Hepner and husband Brent; and his grandchildren, Brent Jr., Gina, Evan, Julia, Sofia, Enzo, Jack, and Dylan. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Urbanavage.
