Retail theft

A 33-year-old male, of Bethlehem, was taken into custody for retail theft after he allegedly placed merchandise with a total value of approximately $848.51 into his backpack without paying for the items at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 5:52 p.m. Jan. 10, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Items taken included an HP laptop, a laptop charger and an energy drink, according to authorities.

Loitering and prowling at night

Footprints were found near to a window at a residence along Prophets Way, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Dec. 11, 2025.

Criminal mischief

Someone threw eggs at a residence in the 3500 block of Knerr Drive, Lower Macungie Township, between 5 and 7 p.m. Dec. 1, 2025, damaging an exterior wall of the home, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

DUI

A 42-year-old male, of Bethlehem, allegedly was driving under the influence along Chestnut Street in Emmaus borough 1:07 a.m. Dec. 24, 2025, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 27-year-old motorist, of Connecticut, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop along Interstate 78 Westbound, Lower Macungie Township. The driver was seen by troopers driving his SUV at high speeds, passing traffic and changing lanes without signaling, 5:42 p.m. Dec. 31, 2025, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

DUI crash

A 39-year-old male motorist, of Allentown, was charged with allegedly driving under the influence after a one-vehicle crash in the area of Sauerkraut Lane and Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, 9 p.m. Dec. 31, 2025, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Criminal trespass

A 21-year-old male, of North Carolina, was taken into custody at grocery retailer Whole Foods, 750 N. Krocks Road, Suite 301, Lower Macungie Township, for alleged criminal trespass 9:43 a.m. Nov. 17, 2025, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Burglary

Multiple items of jewelry were taken from a residence along the 1400 block of Mohr Circle, Lower Macungie Township, Dec. 25, 2025, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Crashes

A 30-year-old male, of Macungie, was the motorist who fled from a one-vehicle rollover crash along Reservoir Hill Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:30 a.m. Jan. 4, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The man was not at the crash scene when first responders arrived, according to a press release from Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The following details of the crash were included in the press release. The motorist was driving his vehicle southbound on Reservoir Hill Road near Mountain Road when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and hit a retaining wall in the 4400 block of Reservoir Hill Road, went into the air and hit a utility pole. The vehicle rolled over and landed on its roof. The engine then caught on fire. Citations in the crash include speeding, according to authorities.

A 79-year-old female, of Macungie, was hurt in a two-vehicle rollover crash at the intersection of U.S. Route 222 and North Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:21 p.m. Jan. 22, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. First responders were called to the accident scene for a crash with injuries and possible entrapment in a vehicle. The woman was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital. Macungie Ambulance also responded. The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt, according to authorities.

A Macungie motorist was extricated from his vehicle after the vehicle crashed into a building along Chestnut Street, Upper Milford Township, Jan. 13, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle, a cargo van, was traveling north on Route 29 10:24 a.m. when the driver lost control and hit the building. The driver was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for treatment of his injuries. Macungie Ambulance and Yocum Towing and Recovery also responded, according to authorities.

A Barto motorist escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash ending with her vehicle on its roof at a location along Chestnut Street, Upper Milford Township, 9:10 p.m. Oct. 13, 2025, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle was southbound when “a deer reportedly ran in front of the vehicle,” according to the press release from state police. The motorist avoided hitting the deer, however, went off the left side of the road, struck a mailbox and a utility pole guide wire. The vehicle next traveled into a drainage ditch before going airborne and rolled over before landing on its roof. The driver got out through a rear door. Macungie Ambulance also responded. The driver was cited for violation of driving at a safe speed, according to authorities.

A Pennsburg motorist struck a large boulder along Kings Highway in Lower Milford Township crushing the underside of his SUV 3:43 a.m. Jan. 9, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The driver had minor injuries, according to authorities.

An Alburtis driver and her passengers were not hurt when the SUV they were in struck a chair along Interstate 78 in Lower Macungie Township Jan. 3, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The SUV was traveling along I-78 westbound around 9:08 a.m. when it hit debris in the road. The undercarriage of the vehicle was damaged and the SUV had to be towed.
