Upper Milford Township is accepting applications for a secretary/treasurer.
An application deadline of 4 p.m. Feb. 4 is posted to the township website, www.uppermilford.net. This is a full-time position.
“The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, or other related field with some responsible experience in municipal government.
“The candidate shall demonstrate experience and knowledge of local government operations, accounting principles and have strong oral and written communication skills,” according to the job description posted to the municipality website and Facebook social media platform.
Consult the job description for additional details, such as information on salary and benefits, preferred computer software skills, relevant details about the township and application requirements.

If the secretary/treasurer position is not a good fit, check into various volunteer opportunities available in the township, also listed at www.uppermilford.net. Volunteer opportunities include serving on the open space committee and with the joint environmental advisory council among others.
Those with an interest in American Revolution era history may want to check out the program titled “Moravians in the American Revolution” presented by Lehigh University Professor Scott Paul Gordon at Southern Lehigh Library, 3200 Preston Lane, Center Valley, 6:30 p.m. Feb. 9.
Registration is required to attend the lecture.
The talk will look at how Bethlehem, founded as a religious community, changed when troops, and others occupied it, transforming how Moravians lived.
The library also will offer an adult craft night Feb. 16 and an adult trivia night Feb. 23. Both events begin 6 p.m. Craft night participants will create homemade personalized cards. Supplies are provided.
The adult programs are reserved for those 18 and older.
A family-friendly Lunar New Year Celebration will be held 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at the library. The event will feature dance and music performances, activities such as fan painting and calligraphy demonstrations, stories spotlighting Chinese New Year traditions and festive snacks. Doors open 10 a.m.

Southern Lehigh Library is the home library for Lower Milford Township residents, however, programs are often open to all. Visit the library website for program registration and additional details.
Lower and Upper Milford township offices are scheduled to be closed Feb. 16 in observance of Presidents Day.
The Upper Milford Township Board of Supervisors will meet 7 p.m. Feb. 5 and 19 at the municipal building, 5671 Chestnut St. An online option also is available.
The Lower Milford Township Board of Supervisors will meet 6:30 p.m. Feb. 19 at the township building, 7607 Chestnut Hill Church Road.
