The Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners met Jan. 15.
Lower Macungie Fire Department Chief Ryan Trexler gave a presentation of the 2025 Statistic Report.
Total calls for the fire company was 970 in 2025.
Alburtis had 47 calls. Lower Macungie had 687. Macungie had 56 calls and mutual aid response was 180.
There were 15,160 volunteer hours.
Response time was noted to be 5.59 minutes with an additional 90 seconds to two minutes for dispatch to respond.
Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioner Stefanie Rafes expressed her thoughts on the response time, saying it was quite impressive.
Types of calls the fire department handles were discussed.
Of the 970 calls, the largest number of responses were for fires. Additional response situations included emergency rescues, medical calls, hazardous conditions and several other categories.
The conflict solicitor, John Ashcraft III, submitted his resignation for personal reasons.
Resolution 2026-02 was approved. The resolution covers the security release for the Mertztown Road residential subdivision.
The bill list was approved.
The minutes from the Jan. 5 board of commissioners meeting also were approved.
The next Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners meeting is scheduled 6 p.m. Feb. 5 at the township building, 3400 Brookside Road, Macungie.
