North Catasauqua: Catasauqua American Legion Post 215 plans Super Bowl party

Catasauqua American Legion Post 215, 330 Second St., will be hosting a Super Bowl party 6 p.m. Feb. 8. There will be food, drinks and the game on a big-screen TV. There is a cost.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, 210 Pine St., will be holding its next monthly food drive 10 a.m.-noon Feb. 13 in the church parking lot.

Drive through to donate your nonperishable food items to benefit Catasauqua Community Food Bank.

Residents and businesses are reminded the sewer bills are due by Feb. 13 without a penalty.

The 2026 garbage assessment/trash invoices have been sent out. The due date is March 31, and there is a discount if paid by Feb. 28.

Payments may be made online by visiting northcatasauqua.citizenactioncenter.com or at the borough office during regular office hours.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., will have a half-price sale on everything in the shop until Feb. 14 in honor of Valentine’s Day.

Regular thrift shop hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Any donations must be written to Catasauqua Community Partnership or CCPI due to banking regulations.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 122 Union St., Catasauqua, will hold cash bingo Feb. 15 in the parish center. The doors and kitchen will open 11:30 a.m., with bingo beginning 1 p.m.

There is a cost which includes 15 games, seven specials and one jackpot round. Bring your daubers, but no hardboards.

No outside food or drinks are permitted. The kitchen will be selling your favorites.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua’s next free community lunch is set for 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Feb. 16.

The church is also accepting donations for the Roughie Pantry to “love our school-aged neighbors.” The pantry is accepting shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, body wash, tampons, sanitary napkins, etc.

The next North Catasauqua Borough Council meeting will take place 7 p.m. Feb. 16 in the basement-level meeting room at borough hall, 1066 Fourth St.

Check the borough website at northcatasauqua.org for any changes. Visit the website for the access code to view the meeting virtually.

Borough council meetings are 7 p.m. the first and third Mondays of each month, with the exception of the September meeting which will take place Sept. 8, a Tuesday. Planning commission meetings are 5:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

The J4 Committee is looking for new members and volunteers to help organize and crafters and flea market vendors for the North Catasauqua/Catasauqua J4 Celebration and Mega Reunion. The event will be July 4 at Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St. The rain date is July 5.

The next committee meeting is set for 7 p.m. Feb. 19 at borough hall, 1066 Fourth St.

The St. John Fisher Catholic Church Lenten fish dinner will take place 4:30-6:30 p.m. Feb. 20 at the church, 1229 Third St. A platter includes a breaded haddock filet, choice of parsley potatoes or halushki, corn, coleslaw, applesauce, roll, butter, beverage and dessert.

Tickets will be sold before and after Masses Feb. 7, 8, 14 and 15 for a prepurchased reduced cost. Tickets may be purchased at the door for a slightly higher price.

Catasauqua Garden Club is welcoming new members. Meetings take place 1 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month beginning in April at Slovak Center Social Club, 1223 Fifth St.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church will hold its Warm Up Wednesday gatherings 4-6 p.m. each Wednesday until March 25. This is a free soup night and everyone in the Catasauqua area is welcome.

St. John Fisher Catholic Church announces a permanent change at the church. The Third Street doors have now been changed to a push-bar exit. To help maintain security, these doors will always be locked during Masses.

The Third Street doors will only be used as an emergency exit. A parishioner donated the money for this important upgrade.

The Catasauqua High School 2026 mega reunion committee is looking for volunteers to help with event planning, sharing ideas and raising funds for this event, set for July 4 at the Catasauqua park. The committee is also seeking contact people from each graduating class to spread the word to your classmates.
