Gloria P. Krause

of South Whitehall Township

Gloria P. Krause, 96, died peacefully Jan. 22, 2026. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Assunta (Cocca) Iacocca and had been married to her beloved husband, the late James R. Krause, for 59 years.

After graduating from Allentown High School, she worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone. She worked weekends as a phone receptionist for The Morning Call newspaper for many years.

She maintained a robust exercise program of aqua aerobics at the Jewish Community Center and fitness classes at the Elm Street Senior Center. She especially enjoyed gathering with her many friends to play pinochle. She was known for her excellent pie baking skills. Over the years, bowling, bingo, baking, reading and traveling were high on her list of favorite activities. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time making memories with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Julia McGeary (Richard), Thomas (Regina), Cynthia Cianela, Karen Burge (Benjamin); grandchildren, Stephen Hiltebeitel, Laura Creveling (Zachary), Jacob Burge, Catherine McGeary (Yavor Rusev), Meghan McGeary, David, Douglas and Joseph Hoffman; great-grandchildren, Jiska, Asha, Ayla, Rapunzel, Theodore, Wyatt, Colton.

She was predeceased by brothers, Victor, Albert and Julius Iacocca.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Feb. 6, in the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Siena, 18th and Turner streets, Allentown. Visitation will be held 9-10:30 a.m. Feb. 6, at Heintzelman-Stephens Funeral Home, P.C., 274 N. Krocks Road., Allentown.
