Dorothy A. Madea, 98, of Cherryville, died Jan. 25, 2026. She was the wife of the late Michael G. Madea for 72 years.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Reuben H. and Hattie (Bilheimer) Musselman.

She was employed at Cross Country Clothing in Egypt for more than 25 years, before retiring in 1989.

She was a member of Zion’s Stone United Church of Christ, Kreidersville.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen Spangler of Northampton; a son, David and wife Valerie of Northampton, with whom she resided for three years; a daughter-in-law, Dagmar Hartman of Slatington; five grandchildren, Erika Unger, Stacie Spangler-Coffey, Cortney Slager, Nicole Lohrman and Jarad; eight great-grandchildren, Michael, Emily and Zachary Unger, Madison and Brynn Lohrman, Riley and Riggs Slager and Lincoln; two stepgrandchildren, Preston and Brandon Max; nieces and nephews; and three foster brothers, Henry and Robert Schirmacher and James Musselman.

She was predeceased by a son, Michael R.; a son-in-law, Ronald Spangler; a brother, Clayton Musselman; and a sister, Winifred J. (Musselman) Riegel.
