Week 4 (18)

After a week off because snow, Star of Bethlehem remains in 1st place with 3-2 and 8-7 in 11 innings wins over St. Paul’s, losing the nightcap 6-0. Ron Frankenfield’s 7-13 led the Star of Bethlehem hitters with Walt Hoffert 5-12, Scott Hoffert 4-10 and Austin Hoffert adding a HR. Rich Kern was 7-13, Roger Kern 5-13, John Hoysan 4-10 (HR), Lizzy Kern 3-7 (HR) and Brian Gross with a HR for St. Paul’s.

Second place Dryland kept pace sandwiching 8-5 and 4-3 (on Dan Skelton 2 out, HR in the bottom of the 9th) around a 11-0 loss to Emmanuel. Top hitters for Dryland included Butch Silfies 7-12, Larry Golick 6-14, Bernie Yurko 5-12, with HRs from Nate Phares and Karen Korme. For Emmanuel, Jon Rice was 5-14, Al Nesbitt 4-12 (HR) and HRs from Bob Bast, Tom Dormeida and Tiffany Amato.

Farmersville beat Ebenezer 7-3 and 3-2, losing the opener 2-1 (on a HR from Kim Kohl in the bottom of the 9th). Leading the way for Farmersville was Dan Halteman 4-12, Gene Grim 4-13, Wade Chilmonik 3-7 with HRs from Mark Steigerwalt, Rick Kittek and Tom George. Brendan Belvins was 6-13 (HR), Paul Yoder 5-13, Joey Blevins 4-11, with Joe Kish and Tim Kohl each going 4-12 and Kim Kohl hitting the cycle for the night (4-12) for Ebenezer.

Christ UCC swept Blessed Trinity by scores of 8-0, 4-0, and 6-2. Leading hitters for Christ UCC were Steve Hunsicker 7-12, Donnie Laudenslager 5-12 (2 HRs),with HRs from Keith Laudenslager (2) and George Gasper, while Ken Remaly was 4-11 for Blessed Trinity
