Coplay: Coplay Saengerbund sets schedule for Saturday concerts

Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., is planning Saturday night concerts, 7-10 p.m., in the bar area. The schedule includes Kyle Yankowy Feb. 7, Sharon Pires Feb. 14, the Uncle Smiley duo Feb. 21 and the Social Call duo Feb. 28. There is no cover charge for members and guests.

Coplay Sports is holding in-person sign-ups for baseball for ages 5-15 for the upcoming season noon-2 p.m. Feb. 7 and 21 and March 7 and then 5:30-7 p.m. Feb. 11 and 25 at the clubhouse, 666 Potter Terrace.

Coplay Saengerbund’s heritage committee is planning its annual Valentinstags-Tanzparty (Valentine’s Day dance) for 2-5 p.m. Feb. 15. Share love with family, friends and your honey.

Entertainment will be offered by the Emil Schanta Band. The king and queen of the dance will be crowned, and there will be sweets for all attendees.

Coplay Garden Club next meets 7 p.m. Feb. 26 in the social hall at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St.

The sixth annual borough spring craft fair is 9 a.m.-2 p.m. March 7 and 8 at Coplay Social Hall, 165 Cherry St.

Coplay Borough is now hiring a pavilion and social hall cleaner, swimming pool manager, pool lifeguards and pool gate guards.

Applications are available 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the borough office, 98 S. Fourth St.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the lower level of the municipal building at 98 S. Fourth St., is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.

If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.

The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.

Public works Director Paul Boyle reminds residents to shovel their pavements and at least 3 feet around any fire hydrants that may be on their property.

The Coplay aerobics classes are expanding the schedule to include 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, in addition to 8:45 a.m. Saturdays and 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, in the borough hall auditorium. There is a cost by donation.

Bring light dumbbells, a towel and a mat to enhance your workout.
