Robert “Reds” Bernard Eckenrode, 87, died Jan 17, 2026. He was born in Wilkes Barre to the late Carl and Loretta (Carr) Eckenrode. He was married to Bettyane (Csaszar) Eckenrode for 63 years.

He wrestled and played football for Liberty HS and enjoyed his childhood getting into trouble in Bethlehem with his siblings, the late Carl and Jack Eckenrode.

He was a career as a union iron worker.

He enjoyed golfing, Philly sports and traveling with his family.

In addition to his wife he is survived by; his children, Kelley Eckenrode, Bobby Eckenrode and Colleen Spitko; and his grandchildren, Beth, Troy, Jake, Emory and Skyla.

If you’re reading this, he would tell you to get a scratch-off or lottery ticket today, because you just might hit the big one.

Otherwise, a celebration of life will be held in the coming months for friends and family.
