Bethany Wesleyan Church Cherryville campus hosting “Night to Shine”

Bethany Wesleyan Church is hosting “Night to Shine,” 6 p.m. Feb. 13, Cherryville, Lehigh Township, campus.

“Night to Shine” is said to be “a worldwide celebration event, centered on God’s love, honoring and valuing people with special needs.”

“Night to Shine” is hosted by churches all around the globe.

States the Bethany Wesleyan Church website: “We are so excited to be partnering with the Tim Tebow Foundation in hosting ‘Night to Shine’ at our Cherryville campus on Feb. 13 at 6 p.m.

“‘Night to Shine’ is a prom experience for special needs individuals ages 14 and up.

“It’s an opportunity to dance, fellowship and hear the Gospel in a safe and fun environment.

“We would love for you to be a part of it, whether as an honored guest or volunteer,” the Bethany Wesleyan Church website states.

Each host church is responsible for planning and hosting their local expression of “Night to Shine” with support and resources from the Tim Tebow Foundation.

“Our prayer is that this event becomes part of the DNA of each host church and will continue to be a ministry supported by the whole community for years to come,” states the Tim Tebow Foundation website.

“Through the years, we have truly seen this event transform into a movement of the Holy Spirit through churches, honored guests, volunteers and supporters, all seeking to give glory to God by celebrating and advocating for people with disabilities and the value of life,” the Tim Tebow Foundation website states.

“Each event is unique to its location, but some cornerstone activities included across all of them are a red carpet entrance complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi, hair and makeup stations, shoeshines, limousine rides, karaoke, gifts, a catered dinner, a Sensory Room, a Respite Room for parents and caregivers, dancing, and a crowning ceremony where every guest is honored as a King or a Queen - the way God sees them each and every day,” states the Tim Tebow Foundation website.

“‘Night to Shine’ requires the help of thousands of volunteers across the globe and is a wonderful way to connect with and serve your community of people with special needs. From serving as a guest’s buddy or member of the red carpet paparazzi, to keeping the enthusiasm up on the dance floor or serving food, there is something for everyone.

“To volunteer at ‘Night to Shine,’ you will register and receive a background check through your local host church location. Once registered, your local host location will provide you with the necessary information and training you will need to serve at ‘Night to Shine,’” states the Tim Tebow Foundation website.

Tim Tebow is a Heisman Trophy winner who was a quarterback for the University of Florida Gators and played in the National Football League.
