SHS baseball to host cash bingo Feb. 1

Salisbury High School will hold an information night regarding course selection for parents 6:30 8:30 p.m. Feb. 3. This is a great time to learn about course offerings and learn what classes students need to take in order to graduate with a Falcon diploma.

SHS baseball cash bingo will be held Feb. 1 at Salisbury Middle School. Doors open 11:30 a.m. with bingo starting 1 p.m. Tickets are discounted in advance with the option for extra specials. You can preregister online at tinyurl.com/SHS4thBaseballBingo and follow the instructions on the form.

Kindergarten registration for 2026-2027 incoming Falcons is now open. Registration is online at salisburysd.org/kindergarten. Eligible students must be 5 years of age before Aug. 31. After the online registration, you will complete screenings with your child May 4-8 as well as school tours and even bus rides in August. It’s an exciting time for both students and families.

The technology department is offering a series of workshops for novice technology users. All sessions are free to the community. To register, call Mary Bishop at 610-797-2062, ext. 1000.

The next class is Google Essentials: Staying Organized and Connected 9:30-10:30 a.m. Feb. 11 at the administration building, 1140 Salisbury Road, Allentown. In this hands-on session designed especially for beginners, participants will explore how to use Google Calendar, Drive and Docs for everyday tasks. Learn how to keep track of appointments, safely store files and create documents with ease. Through simple, guided practice and real-world examples, participants will gain confidence using these tools to stay organized, connected and independent. A Google Gmail account is required.

Looking for some spring soccer for your children? The Lion Cubs spring season is open and registration is live. Practice is Tuesday nights at SMS, starting April 7. Groups are organized by age and skill and spots are limited. Register today at registration.teamsnap.com/form/49527.

Speaking of spring sports, Salisbury Youth Association spring softball registration for 2026 is open. Registration is available at www.syasports.net and closes March 1. Don’t delay in getting your player registered. The 2026 season will start in April with open gym sessions starting in March. Limited spaces are available for each group.

Christmas tree pickup continues for the remainder of January, so make sure those trees are out at the curb unless you have alternative plans for them.

Looking forward, all Salisbury Township schools will be closed for Presidents Day Feb. 13-17, pending any used snow days.

The Allentown Public Library, 1210 Hamilton St., Allentown, has an number of activities for adults and children. Story times are held 10 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays through Feb. 28. Pajama story time will be held 6 p.m. Feb. 19.

Study buddies is a program at the library which provides homework helpers with in-person tutoring with Muhlenberg College students 5:15-6:45 p.m. Wednesdays.

Children 5 and under and their caregivers can explore, create and maybe get messy with a variety of art opportunities 10 a.m. Fridays in the children’s department. The winter session runs through Feb. 27. There will be a break the first week of March and the program will resume with the spring session beginning March 13.

Visit the library 10 a.m. Mondays through Feb. 23 for music and movement for children 5 and under and their families and/or caregivers. There will be dancing, singing, playing instruments and a wiggly good time. (Please note: Wednesdays are off the schedule for the winter session). The library will take a break the first week of March and the spring session will be March 9 through April 17.

Learn how to create presentations with Microsoft PowerPoint 9:30-10:30 a.m. Feb. 3 as part of the Tech Tuesday series.

The Tech Tuesday event Feb. 10 will include working resumes, applications and careers.

An adult craft club will be held at the library 10:30 a.m. the first and third Friday of the month beginning Feb. 6. Bring your current project to work on in the company of other crafters or work on a coloring page.

Adults can create a Valentine’s Day craft, a magnetic picture frame, 2 p.m. Feb. 10. Participants can email a picture to aplref@allentownpl.org, attention: craft, to have it printed to the correct size before the event.
