William Gilbert

of Northampton

William Gilbert, 97, of Northampton, died Jan. 23, 2026, at Sacred Heart Assisted Living in Northampton. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Kenney) Gilbert.

Born in Somerset County, he was the son of the late Francis Gilbert and Mabel (Blough) Gilbert.

He was a graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School.

He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during the post-World War II occupation.

He spent his working life as a tool and die machinist, retiring from Accurate Tool Company in West Chester.

He was affiliated with First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua.

He is survived by a daughter, Lydia T. ‘Tammy’ and husband Edward Seidick; a daughter-in-law, Donna Bard; five grandchildren, Alicia Roland with Mike, Colleen Corso with Amit, Jennifer, Michael ‘Mickey’ Seidick and Daniel Seidick; four great-grandchildren, Destiny Klein, Aaliyah Klein, Chase Roland and Lola Corso; a sister, Doris Becony; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, William F.; and three siblings, James, Mildred Shaffer and Walter.

There will be a calling time 10 a.m., followed by a funeral service 11 a.m., Feb. 6 at the funeral home, 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall.
