Raymond Howard Hartranft, 87, of Catasauqua, died Jan. 14, 2026, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Edna (Miller) Hartranft.

Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Amos Hartranft and Irene (Breesnak) Lawrence.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy during peacetime. He was a rescue swimmer during his tenure in the Navy.

He was employed as a craneman at Bethlehem Steel, where he dedicated 35 years of service before retiring.

He was of the Lutheran faith.

He is survived by a significant other of 25 years, Barbara A. Erney; a daughter, Mary Louise Eschbach of Palmerton; a daughter-in-law, Tina L. of Catasauqua; and two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by five children, Laura Talbot, Brenda Fodero, Robert Keeler, Brian and Roberta Fertal.
