Joseph Perdick
Joseph “Joe” Perdick, 75, of Schnecksville, died at home surrounded by his family Jan. 26, 2026. He was the husband of Jennifer “Jeanie” (Paly) Perdick for over 53 years.
A 1968 graduate of Whitehall High School, he faithfully attended many class reunions and functions. He was a proud United States Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War in the 62nd Engineer Battalion from 1970 to 1971 where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. Following his active duty, he enlisted in the Army Reserves, where he served for over 30 years and earned the rank of Master Sergeant. There, he was awarded an Army Achievement Medal and Army Commendation Medal; he retired in 2010.
He was an operating engineer and was a loyal member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 542, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for over 40 years. His work ethic was unmatched.
Outside of work, he had many hobbies and interests – car or home repairs, classic cars, hunting and fishing, NASCAR fan, New York Yankees and Lehigh Valley IronPigs. He was also a skilled woodworker.
He was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where he volunteered at their annual church picnic for many years.
In addition his wife, he is survived by sons, Jason and Matthew (Cathy); daughter, Jenel Davis (Garry); grandchildren, Rhys Davis, Ryan Davis and Nathanael; brothers, Richard, John (Susan), Robert (Lenny Smith); sisters, Kathleen Heller (Jeff), Virginia Kotz (Gary); many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Helen (Strisovsky); brothers, Laurence and Lewis Perdick; sister, MaryAnn Holst.
His family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the entire Lehigh Valley Hospice team for their wonderful and dedicated care.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Daniel J. Yenushosky 11 a.m. Jan. 30 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 4456 Main St., Whitehall, where his family will receive guests beginning 10 a.m. For those who wish to make a donation in his honor, please choose your favorite charity.
