Jeffrey G. Gilbert
Jeffrey G. Gilbert, 75, of Fellowship Community, Whitehall, formerly of Orefield, died Jan. 22, 2026, at his residence. He was the husband of Carol L. (Beam) Gilbert, to whom he was married 53 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late George Theodore and Dora Elizabeth (Schappell) Gilbert.
He earned a master’s degree from Lehigh University in electrical engineering and his undergraduate degree at Lafayette College. He was employed at PPL in Allentown for 41 years before retiring in 2011 as a senior project engineer.
He was a life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He was a member of Jordan United Church of Christ, Allentown, where he sang and soloed in the choir and was one of the old-fashioned electricians. He was a member of the former Trinity U.C.C. in Allentown where he served as a choir member, Consistory President, Deacon and Elder.
He was a member of Whitehall Lions Club, and past president of the former South Whitehall Lions Club where he was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for his dedicated, humanitarian service from the Lions Club International Foundation.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, James M. and his partner, Jennifer Voorhees, of South Whitehall Township; grandson, Nathan; daughter-in-law, Christine Frederick.
He was predeceased by a son, John Matthew and a brother, Daniel Michael.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Feb. 7, at Jordan U.C.C., 1837 Church Road, Allentown with the Rev. Dr. David Charles Smith officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects 10-10:50 a.m. before the service in the church parlor.
