Fighting Hunger: WCHI food, toiletry, pet food donations by poundage for 2025
BY SHARI NOCTOR
Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative president
Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative’s mission is to alleviate food insecurity in Whitehall and Coplay. In December, we fed 307 households consisting of 430 children, 505 adults and 237 seniors, for a total of 1,172 people. WCHI provides food so our guests can prepare five meals per person in their household for the month.
We currently need light and dark kidney beans, chickpeas/garbanzo beans, canned fruit, chicken noodle soup, instant oatmeal and pancake mix. Please deliver them to the RE/MAX Unlimited office, 1080 Schadt Ave., Whitehall, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and put them in the foyer on the right side.
This article is to let you know the poundage of items WCHI received in 2025 from the various donors. I apologize in advance if I forgot to mention anyone. WCHI received more than 28,500 pounds of food. Many people donated items less than 25 pounds, and I did not have room to include everyone in this article.
WCHI greatly appreciates everyone’s donations. The poundage numbers are listed with the donated group. All are from Whitehall, unless otherwise noted.
