Improv Comedy Festival back for 13th year at SteelStacks
The 13th Annual SteelStacks Improv Comedy Festival is Jan. 23 and 24.
The two-day marathon features improvisational teams from the United States delivering nonstop, high-energy comedy.
The Jan. 23 headliner is “Connor Ratliff presents The Acting Class.”
The Jan 24 headliner is “Opening Night: The Improvised Musical.”
“Connor Ratliff presents The Acting Class” is a one-person improv show disguised as an acting class from the creator of the “Dead Eyes” podcast.
“Opening Night: The Improvised Musical” is a Broadway-style musical that is made up on the spot based on audience suggestions. The show stars Shulie Cowen, Norm Thoeming, Matt Young and Jonathan Dinerstien.
The Jan. 24 post-headliner, Barko, brings calculated slapstick improv to the stage. Physical theater artist Nick Gillette, martial artist-philosopher Pim Van and polymath clown-writer Sam Miller find the humor in the everyday parts of daily routines.
In addition to the spotlight performances, the festival has a lineup of 39 improv teams representing the Lehigh Valley, New York City, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Chicago and Pittsburgh.
Attendees ages 13-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
