Simple assault

A 44-year-old male, of Allentown, faces charges of simple assault, harassment, possession of a controlled substance, criminal mischief, fleeing police and various vehicle code violations after he allegedly assaulted a Salisbury Township resident at a residence in the 1500 block of East Emmaus Avenue Jan. 13, according to Salisbury police. The incident was detailed as follows in a press release. Police were called to the house for a disturbance. The man left the residence before police arrived. Later the same day the male allegedly returned to the residence and tried to break in. As officers returned to the residence “the male ignored verbal commands to stop, followed by the male fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed in a motor vehicle,” according to the press release. The male crashed a into a vehicle along East Susquehanna Street and fled the crash on foot. Officers, including a K-9 team, searched the area but did not find the man.

A 45-year-old female, of Salisbury Township, was charged with alleged simple assault and harassment after police were called to a domestic disturbance in the 1700 block of Savercool Avenue Jan. 10, according to Salisbury police.

Criminal mischief

A resident of the 700 block of East Tioga Street discovered someone smashed the rear window of his vehicle, according to Salisbury police. The incident was reported Jan. 8. A 31-year-old male is suspected in the incident, according to authorities.

Identity theft

A resident of the 700 block of East Federal Street learned a loan for more than $7,000 was taken out using his name, according to Salisbury police. The incident was reported Jan. 13.

Disturbances

Officers were called to Lehigh Valley Hospital, 1200 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Jan. 13 for a disturbance between two people, according to Salisbury police.

Officers were called to KidsPeace, 1650 Broadway, for a disturbance Jan. 9, according to Salisbury police. No arrests were made.

Officers were called to the 1200 block of Salisbury Road for a disturbance Jan. 10, according to Salisbury police. No arrests were made.

Officers were called to Fairview Apartments, 1493 E. Emmaus Ave., for a disturbance Jan. 11, according to Salisbury police. Police spoke with the residents in the apartment “who advised that there was no disturbance and the yelling took place after the Philadelphia Eagles lost a playoff game,” according to a press release from Salisbury police.

Violations approved

Between Jan. 6 and Jan. 13 a total of two school bus video violations were approved bringing this school year’s total to 164 approved violations, according to Salisbury police.
