Allentown Central Catholic High School is officially back in business and ready for a great new year. The second quarter has wrapped up, midterms are here and Viking Nation is already jumping into an exciting winter season.
Before Christmas break, the halls, decorated by our student council, were filled with holiday spirit as students enjoyed fun themed dress down days and our annual 40 Hours retreat.
Students listened to inspiring guest speakers and took part in Mass and adoration.
Over the break, our Viking wrestling team found success in the 29th annual Jim Thorpe Christmas Tournament. Congratulations to McCoy Miller and Alex Tripoli, who made their debut in the 2025-2026 wrestling rankings for both The Morning Call and Lehigh Valley Live. Keep it up Vikes!
Student clubs are off to a great start this year. This past week, the Aevidum Club held a successful doughnut sale and STEMsters, a new volunteer-based club that teaches younger students science, technology, engineering and math, hosted its first official meeting.
Basketball season is in full swing as well. ACCHS girls and boys basketball are having their partner school basketball nights soon. The girls play Jan. 30 and the boys play Feb. 2, with free admission for partner school students.
ACCHS will also host the Gold Out basketball game fundraiser hosted by the Vikings for gold club and the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley Teen Board. Don’t miss it!
Partner school students are invited to a “Royal Tea Party” 2-4 p.m. Feb. 7. Proceeds support the ACCHS Spring Musical. Princess attire is welcomed!
Catholic Schools Week also begins Jan. 25.
Voting for our Make a Joyful Noise video opens Jan. 25 and runs through Feb. 22. The video was entirely storyboarded, filmed and edited by our students. All voting benefits ACCHS.
The boys lacrosse preseason kickoff basket raffle will be held 2-5 p.m. Feb. 15 at Volpe’s Sports Bar in Emmaus. All proceeds benefit the Viking lacrosse program. It’s a great chance to support the lacrosse program and enjoy a night of Viking fun.
Our cheerleaders are also hosting a cheer camp Feb. 14 for students in grades K-8. Campers will learn dance moves, stunts and jumps from our team and coaches. Let’s go Vikes!
