The Salisbury wrestling team has been busy at a few tournaments over the past two weeks.
First it was the MyHouse Trojan Wars to close out December. Then it was the Geesaman Invitational to open up the new year.
And while Salisbury enjoyed seeing a number of teams it wasn’t familiar with compared to its Colonial League foes, the Falcons were eager to get back into league competition.
Southern Lehigh took advantage of four forfeit wins and won four other bouts by fall to secure a 48-26 victory last Wednesday on its home floor.
The loss drops the Falcons (4-7 overall; 2-3 in Colonial League) below .500 in league competition for the first time all season.
Salisbury won five of the nine contested bouts against Southern Lehigh, three of which came by way of fall.
Jacob Spinner pinned Parker Bowman in 1:51 at 127 pounds. Michael Segata secured a fall over Gabriel Magallanes in 3:00 at 160 pounds And Sam Krauss capped the match with a pin in 25 seconds over Reilly Steckert at 285 pounds.
Jarrod Blunt earned bonus points at 133 pounds, picking up a technical fall over Alexander Thomas, 21-2, in 4:40.
Jimmy Cadesca capped Salisbury’s scoring with a 6-3 decision over Landon Kline at 114.
Results from Monday’s match against Executive Education Academy were not available at time of press.
Salisbury will travel to Notre Dame-Green Pond on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. match.
