Lehigh Career and Technical Institute emerging health professionals and animal sciences programs are perfect fits for high school seniors who plan to pursue careers in health care or the care and treatment of animals.

These programs are made possible by the partnerships of LCTI, Lehigh Carbon Community College, Penn State Lehigh Valley, Lehigh Valley Health Network, Lehigh Valley Zoo and Macungie Animal Hospital.

The programs are intensive and dual enrollment, designed to give students a head start on college and expose them to a variety of professions in health care and animal sciences and veterinary medicine through job shadows, hands-on training and clinical study at facilities across the region.

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2026-27 school year, and the submission deadline for applications is Jan. 23.

On Jan. 26, there will be no classes for students. Teachers will have an in-service day.

Catasauqua Area School District is currently seeking applicants for head coaching positions for an established high school girls soccer program and for an established high school girls volleyball program for the 2026-27 academic year. Previous experience as a varsity head coach or assistant coach in a successful program is preferred.

CASD will have early dismissal Feb. 4. The Catasauqua High School students will be dismissed 12:50 p.m.

The next regular CASD Board of Education meeting is set for 7 p.m. Feb. 10 in the district administration board room, 201 N. 14th St.

The new student application window for LCTI’s 2026-27 school year is open now, but the school will not begin accepting applications for the programs that serve students in grades 9 through 12 until the end of January.
