Emmaus graduate Mario Landino is headed to the NCAA College Football Playoff National Championship.
The Indiana University sophomore has played in all but one game over his first two seasons in Bloomington.
He was one of 12 true freshmen to play for the 2024 Hoosiers and appeared in 12 of the team’s 13 games, missing one with an injury.
In 2025 the defensive lineman has played in all 15 games for unbeaten IU. He’s fifth on the team with five sacks. He’s recovered two fumbles, made six tackles for loss and has 28 total tackles heading into the national title game.
Landino helped the Hoosiers win their first Big Ten title since 1967 and just their third in conference history.
The team is looking to bring the program its first national title when it takes on Miami in the championship game Monday, Jan. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
