John Frederick Kegley

of Upper Macungie Township

John Frederick Kegley, 78, of Upper Macungie Township, died at home surrounded by family Jan. 17, 2026. He was the husband of Laurel A. (Keeler) Kegley to whom he was married 54 years. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Frederick and Doris (Peterson) Kegley.

He was a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church and served in various roles within the church. He was a Cub Scout leader for several years.

Of his many interests and hobbies, he’ll best be remembered for his love of model railroads, playing the drums and his passion for country music. An accountant who retired from Sappi North America in 2013, he often lent his skills to friends and community members during tax season.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, steadfast faith and ability to make all he met feel important and understood.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Karen (Ben Tizer), Diana (David Kelly); 10 grandchildren, Juliet, Gemma and Eva Tizer, Jayden, Hope, Bella and Nola Kelly, Ayden, Ella and Alayna; sister, Carol (Frank Dox); several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan, late husband of Lori Selgrath; brother, William.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Jan. 24, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown. A calling hour will be held 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the church parlor.
