Homeland Security captain
George W. Allan, 78, of Belleview, Fla., formerly of Pottsville, died Jan. 14, 2026, at UF Health Hospital in Leesburg, Fla. He was the husband of Roma M. (Uhler) Allan, with whom he shared 22 years of marriage. Born in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Gavin R. Allan and Alice (Childs) Allan. He was a graduate of St. Clair Area High School, Pottsville.
He dedicated his career to public service, working as a Homeland Security captain and previously serving as a police officer in Leesport and Hamburg. He was a proud member of Cressona Lodge No. 222 F&AM, Valley of Reading Consistory and the Rajah Shrine.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Amy Jennings, of Kutztown; stepdaughters, Lynette Kline, of Kutztown, Cheryl Rothrock, of Belleview, Fla.; stepsons, Bruce Berger, of Shoemakersville, Michael Berger, of Leesport; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, five sisters.
