Bath Borough holds organization meeting
The Bath Borough Council held its biennial reorganization meeting Jan. 5. The Pennsylvania Borough Code mandates a reorganization of borough councils in Pennsylvania on even years on the first Monday of January. If the first Monday is a holiday, the meeting is held on Tuesday.
The borough code handbook provides essential guidance for boroughs in Pennsylvania for officials such as council, mayor and borough managers. The code delineates the governance, powers, duties, meetings, legal framework and more that describes proper behavior in boroughs.
Bath Mayor Fiorella Reginelli Mirabito administered the oath of office to Councilmembers Jim Liesicki, Katherine Yost and Darrin Heckman.
Councilman Frank Hesch was reelected to the office of council president, Councilman Emmanuel Mirabito was elected council vice president, and Samantha Angst was elected to the office of pro tempore.
Borough Manager Brad Flynn’s contract was renewed to remain as borough manager. The Grim, Biehn and Thatcher legal team was reappointed to staff the solicitor office, with Patrick Armstrong, Esq., as borough solicitor.
Ron Madison, PE was appointed as borough engineer. Madison is from Colliers, Engineering and Design Inc.
Hanover Engineering’s Christopher Taylor, Scott Brown, Jacob Schray, Paul Saba and Luke Eggert were appointed as the borough’s sewage enforcement officers. Barry Islett and Associates were reappointed to provide code and zoning enforcement.
Emanuel Mirabito was appointed to a four-year term on the borough’s planning commission. Suzette Campos was appointed to a three-year term to the borough’s zoning board.
Council reappointed Emanuel Mirabito to a one-year term to the Bath Borough Stormwater Authority. Susan Simon was appointed to a three-year term on the rental appeals board. Anna Quaprone was appointed to a five-year term to the historic architectural review board.
