LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

NW MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS By Addison Watt

This month in middle school we are back to our normal schedule other than the 20th though the 23rd of the month where we will have half days for SLC Slide Presentations.

You might be wondering what SLC Slides are?

They are Student Lead Conference Slides and they are a great way for middle school students to tell our parents or guardians how we are doing at school and in life.

This is the first time that the middle schoolers are doing Student Lead Conferences.

Students each have their own slideshow on google slides.

There are about 30 slides about us and our school progress.

Parents meet with their child at school to watch a presentation of the slide show prepared by the student.

I asked students what they thought about SLC Slides.

These were their answers.

Sixth grader Ashlyn Carmody says, “I like them because it gives me an opportunity to show my parents my progress in an organized way.”

Another student Sadie Wener in seventh grade said, “I think that it’s a great way to bond with your parents and an amazing way to catch up with them on school.”

Mason Curtis, an eighth grader commented, “They can help people understand and reach their goals faster but, that should be something you do in your personal life not taking valuable school time to do.”

We will also be having a book fair this month.

Students can come shop during ELA class or before or after their SLC meeting.

This will take place in the library.

I hope everyone finds some good books and parents enjoy their children’s Student Lead Conferences.
