Kathleen M. Koehn
Kathleen Marie (Shannon) Koehn, 75, of Emmaus, died peacefully at home Jan. 17, 2026, with her daughters by her side. She was the wife of the late Frederick Koehn. Born in New Brighton, Beaver County, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Marion (Pritchard) Shannon, of Emmaus.
She was a graduate of Emmaus High School, Class of 1968. She continued her education at West Chester University and later earned her degree from Cedar Crest College. Throughout her career, she worked in public relations for various organizations and spent many years as an independent freelance writer, contributing articles to numerous publications. Most recently, at the age of 72, she wrote an article published in The Morning Call.
Dedicated to service, she volunteered with several organizations, including the YWCA Allentown and The Perfect Fit for Working Women, as well as the United Way.
She was a member of the American Association of University Women and devoted time to teaching reading and interview skills to formerly incarcerated women.
She had a deep passion for the arts, particularly music, film and literature. She enjoyed participating in book clubs and film groups, traveling, and, most of all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Dana Davies, of Emmaus; Jennifer Stevenson and her husband, Daniel, of West Lawn, Berks County; grandchildren, Katie and Gwen Smull, Zachary and Brad Stevenson; great-granddaughter, Skylar Stevenson; brother, James Shannon and his wife, Susan.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Shannon; sister, Rebecca Silvert.
A celebration of her life will be held 4:30 p.m. Jan. 27 at Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Visitation will take place 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
