Janet E. Young, of Allentown, died Jan. 17, 2026, in Allentown. She was the wife of Jon Anthony Young for 35 years.

She was a graduate and alumna of Ursinus College and the former Kutztown State Teacher’s College. She was a much loved elementary librarian with the East Penn School District for 32 years. She was also employed by Lifetouch School Studios before and after retirement.

She will be remembered for her happy soul, easy laugh, intelligent mind and kind, generous heart.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, David Reese and his wife, Peggy; dear friends, Lucy and Helen.

She was predeceased by her parents, James E. and Ruth D. (Seidel) Reese; many furry friends.

At her request, there will be no planned service or memorial.

Contributions may be made to a charity of your choice but be sure to do something good in her memory.
