Ryan Hill promoted to executive director of JuxtaHub, Emmaus

JuxtaHub, the Lehigh Valley’s newest arts and innovation center, has announced the promotion of Ryan Hill to Executive Director, effective immediately.

Hill has served as Chief Programming Officer since April 2025, leading the organization’s rapid growth and community impact.

Since joining JuxtaHub, Hill has overseen the debut of a state-of-the-art ceramics studio, created an arts education program, and opened the doors to JuxtaHub’s converted warehouse space in Emmaus to the public with regular hours.

Hill is in the process of organizing an arts and innovation summer camp for children ages 6-12, set to debut this summer, and will soon announce an event celebrating the work of JuxtaHub’s 18 resident artists.

“Ryan’s vision and leadership have been instrumental in transforming JuxtaHub from concept to reality,” said Gary Guthrie, JuxtaHub Board President.

“His deep expertise in nonprofit arts management, combined with his commitment to accessibility and innovation, make him the ideal person to guide JuxtaHub into its next chapter,” Guthrie said.

Hill brings 18 years of nonprofit arts management experience to the role. Prior to JuxtaHub, he spent 14 years at ArtsQuest, where he advanced from Programming Manager to Senior Director while building acclaimed cinema and comedy programs, launching two festivals and pioneering sensory-friendly programming, including the Musikfest Inclusion Zones.

Hill also worked at Civic Theatre of Allentown and the State Theatre Center For the Arts, Easton.

“JuxtaHub was born from a vision shared by 40-plus Emmaus residents who saw the need for a community arts center that could serve as a catalyst for creativity and connection,” said Hill.

“I’m honored to lead this organization as we expand access to the arts, support our incredible resident artists, and continue proving that innovation happens when creativity and technology converge,” Hill said.

Hill is pursuing a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate Program at Georgetown University to further strengthen his expertise in fundraising, grant development, board governance and financial oversight.

Hill is a graduate of Northampton Community College’s Leadership Lehigh Valley program, where he continues to serve as a mentor, and of Ithaca College, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications.

JuxtaHub, founded in 2019, connects creators, artists and makers from diverse mediums, fostering opportunities for education, collaboration and innovation in the Lehigh Valley.

The 35,000-square-foot space at 375 S. 10th St., Emmaus, is home to 18 resident artists and features a makerspace, ceramics studio, educational classrooms, art galleries, and multi-purpose gathering areas.
