Jan. 14
Grace Lutheran Church holds a free food distribution 2-4 p.m. for East Penn School District residents. Signs will be posted with directions for parking and pickup. Also Jan. 28.
The Center for Mindfulness at LVHN will offer a free mindful movement yoga class to practice meditation with movement 5:45-6:45 p.m. at LVHN Health Center at Macungie, 3371 state Route 100. Mindful movement is a calming, centering practice combining gentle yoga postures and mindfulness meditation. “This inclusive, accessible class emphasizes integrating mind, body, soul and breath within a safe environment,” according to organizers. Jan. 17
Wildlands Conservancy will host a winter wildlife meet and greet 1-3 p.m. at Trexler Nature Preserve Environmental Education Center, 4935 Orchard Road, Schnecksville. The event begins indoors to meet animal ambassadors followed by a guided hike through trails in the Trexler Nature Preserve to look for signs of winter wildlife such as animal tracks. All ages are welcome. Registration is free and available through the Wildlands Conservancy website www.wildlandspa.org.

Wildlands Conservancy and Jefferson + Lehigh Valley Health Network will offer a GetOut! For Wellness walk 10 a.m. to noon along the trails of the Trexler Nature Preserve, 4935 Orchard Road, Schnecksville. Walkers are asked to bring cookies, crackers, cheese, fresh fruit or other snacks to share. Organizers will provide hot cocoa, coffee and tea. All ages are welcome. Walkers are encouraged to dress in layers and wear comfortable shoes. Event details and registration are available through the Wildlands Conservancy website www.wildlandspa.org.

The Woman’s Club of Emmaus will meet 1 p.m. at Perkins restaurant, 3400 Lehigh St., Allentown. All are welcome. The club is currently hosting a special fundraiser. A buyer for jewelry is working with the club to collect jewelry and watches Any jewelry collected will be sold and funds from sales will go to the club to use for community outreach programs. Contact Pat Waller at 610-434-7836 to arrange pick up of the jewelry donations. Jewelry also may be brought to the January meeting as well as to the club’s meeting scheduled 1 p.m. Feb. 23 at Perkins. The jewelry fundraiser continues through February.

Mindful Kids, a free mindfulness workshop for children, will be offered 5:45-6:30 p.m. at LVHN Health Center at Macungie, 3371 state Route 100. Designed for children ages 5 to 11 years the workshop includes mindful activities, movement and games taught by a certified children’s mindfulness and yoga instructor. Parents who wish to participate must register and parents must be present for the duration of the class regardless of participation. Bring a yoga mat, large towel or blanket for the workshop. Wildlands Conservancy will offer “Snowshoe with Your Sweetheart!”1-3 p.m. at Trexler Nature Preserve - Packhouse Road Parking Area, 5375 Old Packhouse Road., Schnecksville. Celebrate Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart on a magical snowshoe trek through a winter wonderland. Participants will explore snowy trails, learn the art of animal tracking and discover signs of wildlife. If there is no snow, this program will be a guided walk with the same animal tracking theme. Wildlands Conservancy will offer the program “Winter Birding Walk” 1-3 p.m. at Trexler Nature Preserve - Environmental Education Center, 4935 Orchard Road, Schnecksville. Whether you’re new to birdwatching or looking to sharpen your skills, this guided walk will introduce you to the hardy species in the region during the colder months. Learn how to identify birds by sight and sound, use field guides effectively and understand winter bird behavior. The event is free Register online through the Wildlands Conservancy website.
Feb. 28
Wildlands Conservancy will host the next free Get Out! For Wellness at South Mountain 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants will meet at 28th Street SW, Allentown. The route will take hikers through two natural areas: the Robert Rodale Reserve—designated a State Significant Area—and Wildlands Conservancy’s 440-acre South Mountain Preserve. Participants who prefer a shorter outing are welcome to turn back at any point. Register online through the Wildlands Conservancy website.

The Emmaus Public Library will host its sixth annual Tee Time at the Library event at the library, 11 E. Main St., Emmaus. Participants will play 18 holes of miniature golf in the library stacks. An exclusive event for those 21 years and older will be held 6-9 p.m. March 6 and feature light refreshments, including one adult beverage as well as live music. A family-friendly event will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 7. Children 4 years and younger will play free. There is a cost for tickets. Emmaus Main Street Partners and The Emmaus Historical Society host Lucky Bucks Bingo 2-5 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus. Tickets are available through the website lehighvalleychamber.org/events or at the Emmaus Historical Society, 218 Main St., Emmaus.

Woman’s Club of Emmaus hosts its annual Girls of the Month Celebration honoring eight outstanding Emmaus High School senior girls 6 p.m. at the high school, 500 Macungie Ave. The event will be held in the school cafeteria. All are welcome to attend and learn about the accomplishments of these students. The Woman’s Club of Emmaus has been honoring Emmaus High School senior girls since 1953.
