Thomas J. Tassi, 77, of North Catasauqua, died Jan. 2, 2026, at home. He was the husband of Monica A. (Patchinka) Tassi.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Nelson J. and Helen (Chabak) Tassi.

He was a Catasauqua High School graduate.

He served his country as a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era.

He worked as an iron worker with Local 36 in the Lehigh Valley for many years before retiring.

He was a member of St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church of North Catasauqua.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four grandchildren, Derrick Russell, Giana and Cecelia Winkelbauer and Jakob; six sisters, Rose Marie Bear, Marguerite Heffner, Elaine Bartholomew, Annette Williams and husband Bill, Kathy Helffrich and husband Donald and Susie Apostolico; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Tara A. Winkelbauer; a son, Thomas Jr.; two brothers, Nelson and Vincent; and a sister, Rita.
