Rosemarie A. Shafer

Holy Trinity volunteer

Rosemarie A. Shafer, 82, of North Whitehall Township, died Jan. 3, 2026, while a guest at Fellowship Community. She was the wife of the late Eric Shafer Sr. and David Frederick.

She was a daughter of the late Margaret (Molchany) and Joseph Tognoli.

She graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School in 1961.

She worked as an administrative assistant at Cutshall Insurance Agency and Wainwright Travel. She and her husband owned the Quik-Stop Superette grocery stores 1978-1989. After the sale of the grocery stores, she returned to Cutshall Insurance Agency in 1990 as an administrative assistant and finished her career in the same role with Lincoln Financial Insurance from where she retired in 2001.

Post retirement, she was involved with Holy Trinity parish and managed its basket party fundraisers for several years and counted collections, along with many other volunteer activities.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Eric of Pittsburgh; two stepsons, Scott Frederick with Deema and Kevin Frederick with Deanna, both of Allentown; three grandchildren, Cecilia, Evan and Nova Frederick; a sister-in-law, Mary Anne Haney of Bath; six nieces; two nephews; and several cousins.

She was predeceased by a son, Kevin; a sister, Marianna Dolan with spouse Robert; and a brother, Joseph Tognoli with spouse Sylvia.
