Public Library of Catasauqua: Catasauqua library plans gaming, movie, reading activities
If you resolved to lead a more stimulating life in 2026, the Public Library of Catasauqua is here for you!
This year, the library will have programs for kids, tweens, teens and adults, plus our regular slate of activities for young and old. We’re also always adding to our collection of books.
Our Gaming Club — a time for kids ages 7 and up to get together and play Minecraft and Roblox games on the library’s computers or their own devices — meets several times in January. We’ll have our regular Saturday session 11 a.m. Jan. 17, in addition to two weekday groups 5:30 p.m. Jan. 22 and 28. We host our own Minecraft server for the group, and there is a gaming guru on hand to help newcomers and experienced players alike.
Our family movie this month is “The Bad Guys 2.” We’ll have a free showing 11 a.m. Jan. 31 in our auditorium. Popcorn will be provided.
The adult book club meets the first Wednesday of each month. For the next meeting — 3 p.m. Feb. 7 — the group is reading “Forever Loved” by Melissa Heepke-Simmons. Call or stop by to discuss getting a copy of the book or just show up at the group meeting to listen in on the discussion.
Don’t forget about the reading and craft activity for kids and their caregivers 4 p.m. every Thursday in our second-floor space, as well as our fiber arts group, the Stitches, which meets 5:30 p.m. Mondays in our downstairs space.
Feel free to drop off gently used books, DVDs, CDs and records for our upcoming book sale fundraiser at the end of March. Textbooks, encyclopedias, almanacs, magazines or video tapes will not be accepted. Call for more information.
