Michael F. Fitzpatrick Sr.

of Center Valley

Michael F. Fitzpatrick Sr., 92, of Center Valley, died Jan. 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Pottsville, he was the son of late John J. Fitzpatrick and Margaret V. (Conley) Fitzpatrick. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” (McNamara) Fitzpatrick.

He was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and later received his MBA from Lehigh University.

He proudly served his country during the Korean War, serving honorably in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps 1953 to 1961.

A Certified Public Accountant, he dedicated the majority of his professional career to PPL in Allentown. He served as tax manager in the financial department and retired in 1995.

Following his retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively and enjoyed family vacations to the Jersey Shore. Besides travel, he volunteered his financial/tax expertise to St. Joseph’s of Limeport, a parishioner since 1972.

He was a lifelong golfer and an avid sports fan.

He is survived by his children, Michael Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Verona, N.J., Timothy and his wife, Peggy, of Harleysville, Kathleen Joyce and her husband, Stephen, of Center Valley, Megan, of Center Valley, Brian and his wife, Kathleen, of Cinnaminson, N.J.; Colleen and her husband, John Kohl (dec. 2021), of Raleigh, N.C.; Maureen Baraky and her husband, David, of Duxbury, Mass.; Sean and his wife, Catherine, of Derwood, Md.; Bridget Drake and her husband, Adam, of Center Valley; 26 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two on the way.

He was a foster parent of nine children.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by siblings, Rosemarie Daly, John (Jack), Peggy, Joseph, BettyJean Sullivan, Kathleen Morgans.

A viewing will be held 3-5 p.m. Jan. 18 at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus and 10-10:45 a.m. Jan. 19, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 5050 St. Joseph’s Road, Coopersburg, 18036.
