Glow and Bowl benefits PTA

Northampton Borough Elementary School Parent Teacher Association participated in a Glow and Bowl event Jan. 4 at Hampton Lanes, 326 Main St., Northampton. Glow and Bowl is a fun-filled family-friendly activity that features bowling with glowing lanes, music and lights.

Glow and Bowl events create an exciting glow-in-the-dark bowling experience in high energy for all ages, and they are usually held 2-4 p.m. Sundays.

The event is a fundraising effort that supports school programs and local PTAs. A bake sale was also held.

All proceeds from the Glow and Bowl goes to the sponsoring school or nonprofit organization. There is a cost per person that includes bowling and shoe rental.

The first 12 alleys were designated for the Northampton PTA. They were the most crowded area, with boundless energy from all the kids as they bowled and had fun with their schoolmates.

PTA member Victoria Marzen was delighted with the success of the event. She attended with Jillian Derr, PTA secretary, and friend Chantelle Grate, and they were with their children Jordyn Grate, Vincent Marzen and Paitlyn Derr. All were having fun.

Northampton Area School District merchandise was for sale at the event, too; mother/daughter team Cindi Peck and Paisley Wargo staffed the table. Jenn Knauer was the greeter and check-in person at the front door. Other attendees, like Jourdan Stevens and Kristi Case, enjoyed seeing all the kids having fun.

By all measures, the Glow and Bowl event was a success.

Staff at Hampton Lanes tout the business as “your home for family fun in Northampton.” The venue offers bowling for kids and adults, youth bowling leagues and tournaments. Kids bowling birthday parties are offered, and adult bowling parties can also be arranged.

Inside Hampton Lanes is also Hammerhead Hops and Grill. Visit hamptonlanesbowling.com to review the Hammerhead menu and all the family opportunity in its bowling alleys.
