Egypt/Cementon: VFW plans concerts
Come in from the cold and feel the heat of the amazing bands scheduled to appear at Egypt Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293, 5209 Springmill Road. Upcoming concerts include Madalyn Rayn and Larry Werner Duo Jan. 16, Sons of Izzy Jan. 17, Courtney Cassium and Aidan Heil Duo Jan. 23, Zaire Jan. 24, Pete and Kerrie Duo Jan. 30 and The Honey Buzzards Jan. 31.
February starts off with Mike Sherer Feb. 5, Nite Flyte Feb. 6 and Burn Rocks band Feb. 7.
All concerts begin 7 p.m.

Indulge your hunger cravings at the divisional playoff buffet, set for 2 p.m. Jan. 18, or at the all-you-can-eat breakfast, set for 9 a.m. Feb. 1, at the VFW.

Gather your crew and head out to Laurel Fire Company, 5114 Third St., Cementon, for concerts by Alias Jan. 23 and Kyle Yankowy Jan. 30. Both concerts begin 7 p.m.
There is a cost.

The youth group of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main St., Egypt, will lead the congregation in worship during the Youth Sunday service 9 a.m. Jan. 25.
The group is also holding a clothing drive. Members are collecting new or gently used men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, as well as shoes, purses, belts, bed sheets and pillowcases, bath linens and stuffed animals. Shoes must be bagged separately.
All clean, wearable clothing and shoes will be distributed to people in need.
No quilts, comforters, pillows or blankets will be accepted.
Drop off your donations inside the enclosed porch at the rear of the church.

Aerobic dance fitness classes will take place 6:30-7:30 p.m. every Tuesday in January and February in the heated pavilion at Egypt Memorial Park, 4548 Main St. Bring water, a mat and dumbbells, if you have them.
Additionally, a Stixercise class will be 6:30 p.m. Jan. 29 in the park pavilion. Bring water and a mat.
There is a cost for both.
