Christmas tree pickups are set for Jan. 16 and 23. Remove all ornaments, tinsel, hooks, lights and decorations. Trees that are not cleared off will not be picked up.

Reminder: If you ordered chicken potpie dinners, the pickup is 4-5:30 p.m. Jan. 17 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., via drive-through pickup. The menu includes chicken potpie, creamed cabbage, roll and dessert.

Coplay Borough is now hiring a pavilion and social hall cleaner, swimming pool manager, pool lifeguards and pool gate guards. Applications are available 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the borough office, 98 S. Fourth St.

Coplay Sports is holding in-person baseball sign-ups for ages 5-15 for the upcoming spring season. In-person sign-ups will be held noon-2 p.m. Jan. 24, Feb. 7 and 21 and March 7 and 5:30-7 p.m. Jan. 28 and Feb. 11 and 25 at the clubhouse, 666 Potter Terrace.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the lower level of the municipal building, 98 S. Fourth St., is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.
If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.
The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.

Hometown Hero banner applications are available at the borough office. Publicly honor your war heroes and first responders — police officers, firefighters and ambulance personnel — with a banner.

Public works Director Paul Boyle reminds residents to call the borough office at 610-262-6088 to schedule pickups of sofas, plastic-encased mattresses, chairs, dressers, etc.
There is a limit of two per year at no charge.

Explorer Post 101’s mission is to promote interest in the hobby of model railroading to 12- to 21-year-olds. Join the new Explorer Club for youths age 12-14. Meetings are 7-9 p.m. every Thursday on the second floor of the municipal building.

The Coplay aerobics schedule is expanding to include 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, in addition to the classes 8:45 a.m. Saturdays and 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Classes are held in the borough hall auditorium. Bring dumbbells, a towel and a mat to enhance your workout.
There is a cost by donation.

Coplay American Legion Post 426 has an special mailbox in front of the Post at 134 S. Second St. Worn-out American flags can be deposited into the mailbox for the Post to properly destroy the flags.
