We had an extra visitor at our house over the holidays. Our daughter and her fiancé brought their newly adopted little Chihuahua mix Poppy with them. Not only did she handle the 3,000 mile flight like a champ, but she settled right in with our senior dogs. Lizzy and Daisy weren’t too sure about all the puppy energy but they did engage in play and wrestling sessions with her. She immediately adopted Matt as her go-to person. Normally we call Ben the dog whisperer because he seems to have a special bond with dogs. Not Poppy! Every morning she would go into his bedroom and bark at him while he was sleeping. If he tried to pet her, she would hide behind Matt. We were sorry to see Lydia, Jordan and Poppy leave last week.
The copy deadline for the Feb. 4 column will be Jan. 29.
