The District XI Competitive Spirit Cheerleading Championships were held on Jan. 3 at Easton Area Middle School where Easton took first place in the Class 3A Small Division with a score of 92.2.
Northampton placed second with a score of 86.8, followed by Freedom with 79.7 points, and Whitehall with 75.7 points.
All four squads will advance to the PIAA State Championships this weekend in Johnstown, Pa.
Stroudsburg won the Class 3A Large Division with a score of 69.8.
Joining the Mountaineers at States will be Pleasant Valley with a score of 67.0 and Bangor with a score of 66.8.
In the Class 2A Small Division, Wilson took first place with 72.8 points, Saucon Valley was second with 67.7 points, and Pen Argyl came in third with 61.1 points. All are State qualifiers.
Bethlehem Catholic missed a bid to States by three-tenths of a point.
Lincoln Leadership was unopposed in the Class 2A Large Division and tallied 52.4 points for a trip to States.
East Stroudsburg won the Co-ed Division with a score of 70.3, and Parkland came in second with a score of 65.3, as both will compete at States.
