‘Rooted’ at the library

The Bethlehem Area Public Library hosted a free public screening of “Rooted: A Story of Artists Embracing Place” with a panel discussion afterward with the indie film’s producers.

Released during the summer, the award-winning movie centers around a group of artists who spent their lives pursuing their passions while connecting with each other. Together, in the shadow of the decline of Bethlehem Steel, they planted seeds to creatively connect with, and nurture the Bethlehem community at large.

Producers Dave Fry of Godfrey Daniels folk music club, Bridget George of the Bach Choir of Bethlehem and Touchstone Theatre and Doug Roysdon of the Mock Turtle Marionette Theatre were joined by visiting singer-songwriter John Gorka to field questions and share stories with an engaged audience.

George mentioned that the production team continues to accept financial contributions to help cover around $5000 in remaining costs of creating and distributing the documentary. For information, visit kingfishertheatre.com/donations-for-Rooted/
