Boys & Girls Club Christmas party

The Boys & Girls Club of Bethlehem celebrated Christmas with its annual party Dec. 18 as club members, staff, volunteers and a few family members enjoyed dinner, arts and crafts, a visit from Santa Claus and gift wrapped presents.

Executive director Winston Alozie recognized the support from Grace Church, the Lehigh University Alumni Office, the Bethlehem Parking Authority and the Bethlehem Chamber that helps to make the Christmas party a holiday success.

The dinner menu consisted of yellow rice, beans, pork, baked chicken, empanadas, baked ziti, macaroni salad and potato salad followed by an array of desserts.

Throughout the evening club members used their talents to create ornaments and decorate nutcrackers in the arts and craft room.

Once Santa arrived at the Club photo opportunities abounded for the kids as St. Nick visited with them.

Each child also received a few specially selected presents as helpers (volunteers from Just Born, Inc. and the BASD, Club staff, and board members) facilitated their handing out in a room piled high with colorfully wrapped gifts.

The spirit and activity of the party certainly got everyone attending in the holiday mood.
