SHS wrestlers fall to Bangor, compete in dual tournament

The Salisbury wrestling team had a busy week last week that included a match against a Colonial League foe, as well as a trip to Tamaqua High School over the weekend for the Blue Raider Duals.

The Falcons dropped to 1-1 in Colonial League competition with last Friday’s 48-27 defeat to Bangor, despite Salisbury picking up three victories via fall. Jacob Spinner pinned Bangor’s Mason Steele in 1:26 for his win at 127 pounds. In the next bout, Jarrod Blunt (133 pounds) pinned Jack Lambert in just :49. Sam Krauss was the other Falcon to win by fall against Bangor, taking down Hunter Hopstetter in 2:47.

Despite those dominant performances, the Falcons were behind the eight ball from the start with surrendering five forfeits to the host Slaters at the 107, 114, 121, 139 and 145 weight classes.

Michael Segata won the only other contested bout for Salisbury at 160 pounds, picking up a 4-1 decision over Eziah Cartagena. Colton Tone won via forfeit at 172 pounds.
