The Salisbury swim teams opened the season two weeks ago and have competed in two dual meets through last week.

The Falcons split against Saucon Valley, with the girls team beating the Panthers 96-64 and the boys team falling 109-54 to SV last Monday, Dec. 15.

Salisbury was swept by Blue Mountain to open the season. The Falcon boys team lost 129-42 to the Eagles, while the girls team fell 105-75.

The Salisbury girls team took two of three relays and won five individual events to beat Saucon Valley.

The relay team of Phoebe Ballek, Gwyn DeFazio, Olivia Amorim and Samantha Conrad won the first event of the meet, the 200-yard medley relay. The Falcon foursome of Olivia Amorim, Conrad, Meredith Kelley and Ballek also won the meet’s final event, the 400 freestyle relay.

In individual events, Olivia Amorim (50 free, 100 butterfly) and Ballek (500 free, 100 backstroke) won two events each. DeFazio (100 breaststroke) won one event.

In the boys meet, Caeden Amorim (200 free, 100 breaststroke) won a pair of individual events for the Falcon boys team, while teammates Emerson Juhasz (50 free), Connor Geoghegan (100 backstroke) and Xavier Reihman (100 free) won one event each at the meet.

Against Blue Mountain, Ballek won the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Amorim took first place in the 50 and 100 freestyle events. Gwyn DeFazio won the 100-yard breaststroke in the meet. The Falcons also took first place in the 400 freestyle relay with the foursome of Ballek, Kelly, Conrad and Amorim.

Caeden Amorim’s win in 100 backstroke was the only win for the Salisbury boys team against Blue Mountain.
