Salisbury tops Wilson in wrestling season opener

The Salisbury wrestling team opened its season with a win against Colonial League foe Wilson, 35-25, last week. The Falcons (1-0) won six of the 10 contested bouts.

Jarrod Blunt and Sam Krauss both picked up pins against the Warriors. Blunt pinned Wilson’s Garrick Kuder in 1:10 at 139 pounds, while it took Krauss just 23 seconds to pin Atom Espinosa in their heavyweight bout.

Jordan Tocci-Wachter (152 pounds) and Colton Tone (172) each won via tech fall. Tocci-Wachter defeated Connor Millen, 19-3, in 3:45; Tone’a 21-5 tech fall over Max Vinson came in 3:55.

Jacob Watson (189) picked up a major decision victory (11-0) over Ryan Bonham, Michael Segata (160) won via decision (10-3) against Lance Thatcher, and Jimmy Cadesca (114) won via forfeit to round out the Falcon winners.

The Falcons faced Jim Thorpe Tuesday and will host Bangor on Friday at 7 p.m. See results of those matches in an upcoming issue of the Press.
