PHS-EHS hold annual battle
The Parkland High School swimming and diving teams remained unbeaten after recent meets against Emmaus, Whitehall and Pocono Mountain West.
The Trojans opened the season Friday, Dec. 12 with a sweep of Pocono Mountain West.
The Parkland boys team beat the Panthers 147-31 as Jacob Piccini (200 freestyle, 500 free), Thomas Price (individual medley, 100 free) and Dominic Faenza (backstroke, breaststroke) won two individual events each at the meet.
The Trojans girls team beat PM West 155-23. Baylee Kish (IM, 100 free) and Sydney LaBaugh (50 free, 500 free) each won two events at the meet.
In a 116-54 win over Whitehall, Jacob Grab (200 free, butterfly) was the only Trojan boys swimmer to win two individual events. In the PHS girls’ 115-55 win over the Zephyrs, Mia Jenkins (50 free, 100 free) and Kendall Bashore (200 free, 500 free) won two events each.
Saturday Parkland swam its most anticipated dual meet of the season and came away with a win and a tie.
Emmaus visited the PHS pool Saturday. The boys teams tied at 93-93 while the Parkland girls cruised to a 124-62 win over their top East Penn Conference rivals.
The Parkland girls team won all three relays and seven of nine individual events. LaBaugh (200 free, 100 free) and Milla Hahn (IM, butterfly) won two events each in the win.
In the boys meet, Price (50 free, butterfly) and Faenza (200 free, 500 free) won two events each for Parkland.
