The Northwestern Lehigh wrestling team won its first three dual matches of the season. After wins over Palisades and Freedom to open the season, the Tigers took down Lehighton last week, 39-30 in a Colonial League match.
Northwestern won seven of 13 matches against Lehighton, with five wins coming by fall and all seven earning the team bonus points.
Northwestern’s Logan Heeps (107), Weston Killar (127), Nolan Koehler (172), Vinnie Fugazzotto (189) and Luke Fugazzotto (215) all pinned their Lehighton opponents. Trent Croll (145) won by technical fall and Chase Sukanick earned a win by major decision.
The Tigers face Palmerton Tuesday and will compete in next week’s Bethlehem Holiday Classic at Liberty High School on Dec. 28-29.
