Jamaica, Laible, Lysinger pin Golden Hawks in win

The Emmaus girls wrestling team opened the 2025-26 season with a dominant win over Bethlehem Catholic, 72-6 last Wednesday, Dec. 3.

The Hornets won three matches by fall, with Nitzana Jamaica (100), Sarah Lysinger (130) and Haily Laible (148) all pinning their Golden Hawk opponents. Laible earned the quickest pin as she put Sophia Donchez on her back in 55 seconds. Jamaica and Lysinger both got their pins in the second period of their matches.

Emmaus won nine matches by forfeit and lost just one bout. Picking up wins by forfeit were Kanval Naveed (106), Julia Paung (118) Calia Shotwell (124), Brynn Koberlein (136), Kadence Yannotti (142), Olivya Kroope (155), Jocelyn Vargas (170), Mia Rifas (190) and Petra Perez (235).

Emmaus hosts East Stroudsburg South Wednesday, Dec. 10 and will compete in the Gettysburg Duals Saturday.
