Falcon girls win first three games

The Salisbury girls basketball team struggled early in the schedule last season before winning five of its final six games in the 2024-25 season.

With two early wins to open the 2025-26 season, Salisbury has won seven of its last eight games.

The 2-0 start to the season has Salisbury headed in the right direction with wins over Lehigh Valley Academy and Palisades.

In the season opener against LVA, junior Roxanna Cardenas hit six three-pointers on her way to a game-high 19 points for Salisbury. While Cardenas was hitting from long range, Kendra Morgan took care of the short range shots to finish with 18 points in the 52-26 win against the Jaguars.

In addition to the six threes from Cardenas, freshman Izabella Gonzalez, senior Isabella Nimeh and sophomore Shahd Suleiman also hit from behind the arc to give the Falcons nine three-pointers in the game.

Monday night, Salisbury played its home opener against Palisades and Morgan had the hot hand, scoring 24 points in a 44-17 win. In two games, Morgan averages 21 points per game for Salisbury. Cardenas added nine points against the Lady Pirates.

The upcoming schedule takes Salisbury to Jim Thorpe, which has lost its first two games, allowing 50 points per game while scoring just 33. Lehighton is off to a 2-0 start with wins over Notre Dame-Green Pond and Wilson winning the two games by a total of 31 points. The Falcons are back on the road on Monday to play Bangor. The Slaters are 0-4 on the season with an offense that has averaged just over 18 points per game.
