Emmaus ice hockey starts season 2-1

The Emmaus varsity ice hockey team is three games into the 2025-26 regular season and in second place in the Lehigh Valley Scholastic Hockey League standings.

The Hornets entered this week at 2-1 and in second place in the Varsity Division behind unbeaten Northampton (4-0).

The Hornets have scored 20 goals this season and allowed just seven, which is tied with the Konkrete Kids for fewest in the league.

Luke Patterson and Ben Nichols lead Emmaus with four goals each this season. Nichols also has three assists.

Aidan Nichols leads the Hornets with six assists this season, to go along with a pair of goals. Silas Wellhoener has assisted on five goals, while Ben Brooks and Ryan Nytz have three assists through three games.

Emmaus goal keeper Cayden Saul has stopped 85 shots this season with a .924 save percentage and 2.75 goals against average.

The Hornets have two wins over Parkland this season, 8-1 on Oct. 27 and 10-1 on Nov. 24. Their loss came against Northampton, 5-2 on Nov. 10.

Emmaus takes on Nazareth next Monday, Dec. 15 and then faces the Trojans again for the third and final time in the regular season on Dec. 22.
